Gurugram, December 29
Heavy rush was witnessed across Metro stations in Gurugram today as Metro occupancy has been reduced to 50 per cent.
Long queues — stretching as far as the road outside — were seen at the two main stations — HUDA city centre and IFFCO chowk.
On the curbs, the passengers gave a mixed response as some were angered by it while others agreed with the decision. “In this situation, it is difficult to do a job as it is not possible to reach the office on time,” said Sudhir Singh, an executive in a private company.
“We faced difficulty in getting into the Metro but the government has taken a good decision at this time of the Omicron threat,” said Priya, a BPO executive.
A Delhi Metro official said due to increase in Covid infection, ticket counters and entries in the Metro station would remain limited till further orders. — OC
