Congress MP Deepender Hooda, during a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee here on Friday, admonished the Deputy Commissioner for non-observance of protocol and asked him to leave.

The DC did not go out to receive the MP on his arrival at the venue. "This is for the first time in 22 years.... You are not the chairman of the meeting, I am. If you are unable to follow the basic protocol, I will conduct the meeting without you. Please stay away (from the meeting). I don't need you," he told the DC, who readily apologised.

Hooda also sought a probe into the alleged Rs 300-crore scam in the implementation of the first phase of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme in Rohtak when the AMRUT-2 proposal was placed in front of him.

He also expressed strong displeasure over the shortage of water prevailing in the district and directed the officers concerned to resolve it at the earliest.

Talking about the slow pace of development works, he said, "Most of the developmental works, which should have been completed as per the time frame fixed at the committee meeting on January 13, are still pending. All works must be completed by the next meeting."
