The department got this revenue from March to August 28. At least 452 vehicles were impounded in connection with illegal mining and illegal transportation of mining minerals during this period.

As many as 24 complaints related to illegal mining were sent to different police stations to get FIRs registered against persons involved in illegal mining.

Sources said illegal transportation of mining minerals was still going on despite check-posts at different places in the district. It is alleged that a number of vehicles loaded with mining minerals were being run without e-transit passes, causing revenue losses to the government.

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta said every possible effort was being made to stop illegal mining and illegal transportation of mining minerals in the district. Teams of the district administration had been formed to stop illegal mining. “Appropriate action is being taken against those involved in illegal mining,” said Gupta.
