An FIR was filed against over 30 persons, including seven who were named, at the Bichhor police station. Subsequently, the police arrested two suspects, who were then remanded to one-day police custody after appearing in a Nuh court.

The incident occurred when a police team raided the hills of Hathangaon village following reports of illegal mining late Tuesday evening. The JCB driver, engaged in unlawful mining, fled upon seeing the police, leaving the JCB behind. However, a group of more than 20 persons arrived and confronted the police, ultimately freeing the JCB from custody. They then proceeded to Sancholi village with the JCB, prompting the police to pursue them.

Upon arrival, the assailants began pelting stones at the police team and rammed a police vehicle with a tractor, resulting in injuries to head constables Vijay Kumar and Sukhdev.

To disperse the unruly crowd, the police resorted to opening fire in the air, leading to the arrest of two suspects, Taufiq and Kaif. The other perpetrators fled the scene with the JCB, a Bolero jeep and a tractor.

An FIR was lodged against the accused at the Bichhor police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including attempted murder.

Inspector Hukam Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Bichhor police station, stated, “We are interrogating the detained individuals who are in police custody. Our teams are conducting raids to apprehend the remaining suspects.”
