Agriculture Minister JP Dalal blames Cong for agitation
Chandigarh, September 25
Agriculture Minister JP Dalal on Friday blamed the Congress for the farmers’ agitation, alleging that it was misguiding peasants on the three farm Bills.
Addressing a press conference, Dalal claimed that while an overwhelming majority of farmers were supporting the Bills, certain vested interests supported by the Congress were indulging in road and rail blockades against ‘farmer-friendly’ Bills.
He said the Congress had, over the years, stood for status quo in the agricultural sector, which suited the vested interests.
He said the NDA had tried to change status quo and taken revolutionary steps like the farm Bills to increase farmers’ income.
He claimed that the Congress was opposing the Bills for political reasons. — TNS
