Minister suspends licence of mining firm in Charkhi Dadri
Panchayats and Development, Mines and Geology Minister Krishan Lal Panwar has ordered the suspension of operations of Shri Balaji Infradevelopers Pvt Ltd (SBPIPL), a mining company in Kaliyana village of Charkhi Dadri district. He directed the mining officer concerned to submit a suspension case to the Director of the Mines and Geology Department following an inspection of the site yesterday.
The Mining Officer had previously issued a notice to the company on December 12, 2024, for failing to deposit approximately Rs 30 crore owed to the government. Despite multiple notices, the crusher continued operations without clearing its dues.
During his visit to Charkhi Dadri, the minister also inspected Pichopa village in the Badhra area and confirmed that all mining activities in the area had ceased. “No mining was taking place in the designated mining zone,” he stated.
The minister, however, mentioned an incident involving a worker at Shiv Shakti Stone Crusher in Pichopa. “A worker named Subhash suffered a minor injury when a stone slipped from the crusher’s belt and hit his foot. He received immediate medical treatment,” he said. He further clarified that no illegal mining-related activities were detected in the area.
Responding to allegations of illegal mining raised by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, the minister accused him of making baseless claims. “The Congress leader is falsely alleging illegal mining by referring to Rajasthan’s territory as part of Haryana. I have personally visited Nuh and Charkhi Dadri and found no evidence of illegal mining,” he said.
The minister elaborated on his recent visit to Nuh and the hill near Firozpur Jhirka, which Surjewala had referenced in his allegations. “Just 10 feet from the site, the land falls under Rajasthan’s khasra number 62. The Opposition is wrongly claiming it as Haryana’s area to make false accusations of illegal mining,” he clarified.
He further advised Surjewala to verify facts before making political statements. “Groundless allegations without proper investigation do not serve the public. Such baseless political statements are misleading and unnecessary,” Panwar remarked.
The minister assured that the state government was committed to ensuring strict enforcement of mining regulations and taking action against defaulters.
