Minor boy drowns in Tangri river in Ambala; body recovered
A minor boy from Punjab drowned in Tangri river in Ambala on Friday. The deceased was identified as Manveer (13), a resident of Ahru Khurd. He was a student of Class VII.
As per information, five boys from Aheru Khurd village of Punjab were watching the flow of water in Tangri river at Bhuni village of Ambala at the Haryana-Punjab border when two of them slipped and the others tried to help. Three drowned while two were rescued.
Soon after receiving information, local residents and teams of SDRF and Naggal Police station reached the spot. A rescue operation was launched, however, the heavy flow of water posed challenges. Later, Manveer’s body was recovered from the river.
SHO Naggal Police station said, “Information was received that three boys have drowned. While two were rescued in time, one drowned. A rescue operation was launched. The body has been recovered and will be handed over to family after post-mortem.”
