A 10-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by the principal of a private school in a village of Jind district. The women police station in Jind has registered a case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Sections 65 (2) and 127 (2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita on the complaint of the mother of the victim today.
Hunt on to nab the accused
Jind police spokesperson Amit Singh said the police had started a hunt to nab the accused and both the victims had been medically examined
The police said the principal allegedly lured the victim — a Class 4 student — into a toilet of the school and raped her. The girl was so shocked due to the assault that she couldn’t reveal anything to her parents on returning home.
However, the girl reportedly burst into tears when her parents were having an argument over some issue. Seeing her crying profusely, her parents got suspicious and talked to her. The girl disclosed the entire incident to her mother. Following which, the parents approached the police and got the complaint registered.
In another similar incident, a minor was allegedly sexually abused by her stepfather in a village of the district.
The victim, 11, revealed to her mother that her father had sexually abused her some days ago when she was alone in the house. The mother lodged a complaint with the police.
The victim’s mother had remarried the man after the death of her husband in 2022. Sources said the girl was terrified after the incident and failed to disclose the incident to her mother. She however mustered the courage when her stepfather was not at home and disclosed the incident to her mother.
Jind police spokesperson Amit Singh said the police had started a hunt to nab the accused and both the victims had been medically examined.
Last month, a 3-year-old girl child was sexually abused by two persons at a village of Fatehabad, which led to the death of the victim during treatment at PGIMS in Rohtak.
The matter of sexual assault and molestation of several girl students by the principal of a government senior secondary school in a town of Jind district in November last year had shocked the state. The accused was later terminated from service and is presently in jail.
