Miscreant held after exchange of fire
The CIA-1 unit of the Kurukshetra police has nabbed a miscreant after a brief exchange of fire in which the miscreant suffered bullet injuries in his legs on Friday night. The miscreant was identified as Aman, a resident of Jainpur Jattan in Kurukshetra.
Aman and his accomplices had opened fire at a liquor vend on September 14 in the Ladwa area of Kurukshetra.
CIA-1 unit in-charge Surender Kumar said on September 14, information regarding a firing incident at a liquor vend near Ladwa bus stand, following which the team had reached the spot and started investigation. The salesman at the liquor vend had said on the night of September 14, around 11 pm, three miscreants with their faces covered arrived on a motorcycle without a number plate. They had opened fire and then fled away.
On September 19, the CIA-1 unit received information that a youth was roaming in the Ladwa area on a two-wheeler without a number plate. As per the tip-off, he was carrying arms and might commit any crime. The CIA team started search on the Ladwa-Pipli road, and miscreant Aman was spotted near the nursery at Sonti village. As the team approached him, Ajay fired twice at the police party.
The CIA-1 unit in-charge said he was given a warning and asked to surrender, but he tried to flee and fired two more bullets. In response, the police party also opened fire, in which Aman suffered bullet injuries in his legs.
