Miscreants target bank in Pehowa

Unidentified miscreants decamped with cash after breaking into Axis Bank by making a hole in the rear wall of the branch at Teokar village in Pehowa in the wee hours of Tuesday.
They damaged CCTV cameras and alarm before fleeing. No guard was deployed on night duty.
It is suspected the miscreants decamped with Rs7-8 lakh. The bank is yet to ascertain the exact amount.
After getting information, DSP Dheeraj Kumar, Pehowa SHO Malkit Singh and forensic expert Ashok Kumar reached the spot.
Branch assistant manager Shiv Kumar said they came to know about the incident in the morning.
Forensic expert Kumar said, “The thieves used a cutter to make a hole in the wall and then open the chest. The CCTV footage is being examined.”
Investigating officer Hansraj said, “It is suspected that at least three men are involved in the crime. The CCTV footage has been obtained and sent to a forensic laboratory.” — TNS
