Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora inaugurated JN Kapur Chowk near the back gate of JN Kapur DAV Dental College, Yamunanagar.

A havan was organised to mark the foundation day of the dental college.

On this occasion, MC Sharma, honorary treasurer of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; IK Pandit, Principal of the college; Vijay Kapur, Chairman, DAV Schools; and others paid homage to late JN Kapur, founder of DAV Institutions, Yamunanagar, and remembered his invaluable services to society and the nation.

College Principal IK Pandit and MC Sharma exhorted students to follow the footprints of JN Kapur, who was an epitome of selfless service and sacrifices.

Vijay Kapur, Chairman of DAV Schools, said, “During the visit of JN Kapur to the USA, his daughter Swaran Mahendru and son-in-law Mahatma Devi Dass Mahendru helped him raise funds for establishing the dental college.”

He said that his services should not be forgotten for the memorable role he played in the fields of education, health services, women empowerment, uplift of society and even in the formation of Jan Sangh (BJP).

He said Kapur extended these services at a very critical juncture, when he himself was an uprooted refugee from Lahore after Partition.

The chairman also added that the government should acknowledge JN Kapur’s invaluable services to humanity.
