by former minister Ram Bilas Sharma, a delegation of MLAs from southern Haryana called on CM Nayab Singh Saini at the Assembly here today, urging him to ensure the execution of the Nasibpur Shaheed Smarak project in Narnaul Assembly segment of Mahendragarh district.

They said the project was announced by former CM Manohar Lal Khattar years ago, but had yet to take off.

“During the 1857 struggle for Independence, nearly 5,000 soldiers, under the leadership of Rao Tularam, were martyred at Nasibpur village while fighting the British. In their honour, Manohar Lal Khattar had announced the modernisation of the martyrs' memorial there. However, no work has started,” Sharma told Saini.

Om Prakash Yadav had also raised the issue during the Assembly session yesterday. In response, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Minister Rao Narbir Singh clarified that the project was not under the government’s consideration as a war memorial was existing at the village.
