MNSS-Rai players crowned state gymnastics champs in Ambala Cantt

Once again, MotiLal Nehru Sports School (MNSS), Rai, showcased its sporting excellence by achieving a remarkable feat at the Haryana State Gymnastics Championship, held from October 8 to 10 in Ambala Cantt.

The athletes of the institution delivered an outstanding performance, securing 13 gold medals and winning the prestigious title of ‘First Team Championship’.

Adding to the pride, 13 students have been selected for the SGFI National Gymnastics Championship, which will be held in Kolkata in December.

On this achievement, Ashok Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Haryana Sports University, congratulated the players and said, MNSS, Rai, had always been recognised for its rich sports culture. The students had once again proved that with consistent practice, discipline and the right guidance, no goal was unattainable. I heartily congratulate all players and coaches for this remarkable accomplishment.

Dr Pramod, Principal, MNSS, expressed his pride, stating, “Our athletes have not only brought glory to the school but have also made the state proud.” This achievement is the result of their hard work and the dedication of our coaching staff. “I am confident that our students will continue to excel at the national level,” he added.

Players Selected for SGFI Nationals are Lavanya, Yuvakshi, Jasim, Vidhi Kundu, Mamta, Poorvi, Dagar, Anmol, Nitish, Droonvart, Nishant, Riyanshu, and Anshul.

Meanwhile, the senior rhythmic girls’ team (Under-19) of MNSS also gave a commendable performance by winning three bronze medals, securing third place in the team championship. The rhythmic girls team members were Renu (captain), Ritika, Himanshi and Disha.
