Gaukarna Tirth Dham, a spiritual centre that draws a large number of devotees from across the country, including political figures, is set to witness the construction of a grand Ram temple, modelled after the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

The temple’s construction was formally launched with a traditional Shila Pujan (foundation stone worship ceremony) at the dham on Thursday.

The rituals were led by Mahamandaleshwar Baba Kapil Puri Ji Maharaj. Former state Cooperative Minister and senior BJP leader Manish Kumar Grover symbolically broke coconuts during the ceremony — a traditional symbol of auspicious beginnings.

Speaking on the occasion, Grover highlighted the spiritual importance of Gaukarna Tirth Dham.

“This site holds immense faith for millions across India. People feel blessed and proud to come here. The new Ram temple will be especially meaningful for the devotees who, for various reasons, are unable to travel to Ayodhya. They will now have the opportunity to worship and seek blessings right here,” the BJP leader added.

Baba Kapil Puri said the temple would be constructed using high-quality stone from Dholpur, known for its strength and aesthetic appeal.

“The temple will not just be an architectural marvel, but a symbol of Sanatan Dharma and the enduring spirit of Hindutva,” he added.
