Modi to hold roadshow, open Dwarka Expressway on Mar 11

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Dwarka Expressway after holding a road show on March 11. The road show will start from Delhi and end in Gurugram. The outline of the programme is being finalised.
Union Planning Minister Rao Inderjit Singh said the Prime Minister was coming to Gurugram for the second time in a month. Earlier, Modi had addressed a rally in Majra, Rewari, on February 16, and inaugurated many projects, including AIIMS.
“With the commencement of the Dwarka Expressway, the connectivity between Gurugram and Delhi’s IGI Airport will be improved and the project will have four categories of road transport, namely tunnel, underpass, flyover and flyover over the flyover. The length of the road is 18.9 km in Haryana area and 10.1 km in Delhi area,” said Rao.
Rao said with the opening of the expressway, there would be an expansion to the road infrastructure not only in Gurugram but also in the NCR region. People living in new sectors of the area will also benefit from it, he said.
The construction of Dwarka Expressway is in progress in four sections, in which the first in Delhi region is from Shiv Murti in Mahipalpur to Bijwasan (5.9 km), the second is from Bijwasan ROB to Delhi-Haryana border in Gurugram (4.2 km), the third in Haryana region is from Delhi-Haryana border to Basai ROB (10.2 km) and the fourth is from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula (8.7 km).
