Mohana cop shot dead in Baroda
Sonepat, February 13
A policeman was found shot dead near Rukhi village on the Gohana-Rohtak road in the Baroda area of Sonepat district.
The deceased has been identified as Head Constable Pramod of Jasia village of Rohtak. He was posted at the Mohana police station. The police received information that the body of a policeman was lying near Rukhi village around Monday midnight. The police reached the spot and found the body in police uniform. He was identified from his identity card, which was found in his pocket.
His family members were informed and SHOs of Mohana and Baroda, along with their teams, too, reached the spot.
Inspector Ramesh Kumar, SHO, Baroda, said the deceased, Pramod, had left for his village in his Wagon-R car from the Mohana police station around 11 pm on Monday night.
Thereafter, information about his body was received at the emergency number 112 around 12.45 am. A bullet injury was also found on his body, he said. His mobile phone and car were not found on the spot, the SHO added.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at the BPS Medical College in Khanpur.
A case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.
Four teams — two from the police station and two teams of the CIA, Gohana — have been formed to trace the suspect/s.
