The woman coach, who levelled molestation allegations against former Haryana minister Sandeep Singh, today filed an application before a local court for issuing direction to Director General of Police, Haryana, to produce the report and documents of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by Haryana Police in the case.

Bansal said that on December 29, 2022, the complainant had reported the matter to Chandigarh Police. When the matter was reported to Chandigarh Police by the complainant, the accused filed some complaint before the Haryana Police.

Upon the complaint, the Director General of Police, Haryana, constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter.

The SIT constituted by Haryana Police was headed by Mamta Singh, IPS, Additional DGP, Rohtak Range, with Sumer Partap Singh, IPS, and Raj Kumar, HPS, ACP Panchkula, as the other members.

The report of the committee has not been made public till today.

The counsel said that the conduct of the accused at the time and after the commission of offence is a relevant piece of evidence.

He said that the report and other documents of the SIT are material evidence in the case and if the same is not ordered to be produced, then grave prejudice would be caused to the rights of the victim. He said that although the matter was reported to Chandigarh Police, how and on whose instructions the SIT was constituted by the Haryana Police and how come officials with rank of IPS officer probed the matter without registration of FIR in their jurisdiction. These are still a mystery as these are against the provisions of law.

The police registered a case against the former minister on December 31, 2022 at Sector 26 Police Station, Chandigarh, on the complaint of the woman coach.
