MP asks officials to complete development projects on time
A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee ‘Disha’ was organised under the chairmanship of MP Deepender Hooda here on Monday to review ongoing development works and department-wise schemes.
The MP discussed various topics related to the development of the district in detail and issued necessary guidelines to the district authorities to ensure the completion of development works in a timely manner.
Claiming that unseasonal rains had caused large-scale crop damage in the district, Deepender also demanded that the state government should provide adequate compensation to the affected farmers for their crop losses caused by rain coupled with hailstorm.
Deepender placed many public issues at the meeting and asked them to redress the grievances on the spot.
He said sanitation system in the city should be improved and maintenance of public toilets constructed in urban areas should also be ensured. He conducted a detailed review of drinking water supply and sewerage works undertaken in the city under the AMRUT scheme and directed the officials to provide benefits of these development works to the public within the stipulated time. Deepender said the National Highways Authority of India should repair the lights at the IIM Chowk on the NH-9 and complete the work of the ring road from Gohana Road to Jind Road.
Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra and Kalanaur MLA Shakuntla Khattak were also present on the occasion.
