Haryana mucormycosis cases rise to 756

A total of 756 mucormycosis cases have been reported in Haryana so far and out of them, 58 patients have recovered. As many as 648 people are under treatment.

A technical committee today approved 975 injections of Amphotericin B for about 515 patients. A spokesperson said that out of 577 patients whose clinical data has been analysed, 442 are males and 135 are females. As many as 508 such patients were found to be suffering from diabetes.

On analysing the patients, it was found that about 86 per cent had proven history of Covid infection. He said that 498 patients had tested Covid positive and 79 patients revealed no history of the infection.

Besides this, 462 patients had been given steroid therapy, 254 had been given oxygen therapy and 61 patients had other immuno-compromised conditions. Sharing the details of districts with the highest number of cases, the spokesperson said that Gurugram has 216 cases till date followed by Hisar, which has reported 179 cases and Rohtak has 145 cases. — TNS
