Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has set a target to collect Rs 25 crore as property tax for the current financial year.
The MC Commissioner held a meeting with Municipal Corporation officials today. He informed them that the MC had collected Rs 3.38 crore as property tax till July 31. He directed the MC officials to identify a total of 40 properties and give them notice for payment of property tax. He said if the tax was not deposited after the notice, then action would be taken against them. Two secretaries of the MC were also given the target to ensure deposition of property tax of Rs 50 lakh each.
Dahiya also ordered a sub-committee under the leadership of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Virendra Saharan. The committee will work to achieve the target of Rs 25 crore for property tax recovery in the town this financial year.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Hooda, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Virender Saharan, senior account officer Ashok Nehra, secretary Sanjay Sharma, secretary Deepak and other officials were also present at the meeting.
