Municipal Corporation to build cycle tracks on three main roads in Yamunagar, Jagadhri
For the first time, Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will build cycle tracks on three main roads of the twin cities. Besides, all roads, footpaths and dividers of the twin cities will be beautified.
This information was given by Mahabir Parsad, MCYJ Commissioner, who recently held a meeting with officials of the engineering branch of the civic body to discuss issues related to development works of the twin cities. The MCYJ Commissioner instructed the engineering branch officials to build cycle tracks on main roads of the twin cities. He said in the first phase, cycle tracks would be built on three main roads of the twin cities.
At the meeting, Parsad told officials to complete their work within the stipulated time frame. “The officials should properly monitor every work. They should pay special attention to the quality of development works,” Parsad said. At the meeting, he sought details of works being done by Executive Engineers, Municipal Engineers and Junior Engineers.
Executive Engineer Vikas Dhiman gave information about various projects, including the open air theatre and auditorium, being constructed at a cost of Rs 52.87 crore under the big project of the Municipal Corporation (MC), beautification of the city’s Gymkhana Club road, Govindpuri road and Workshop road at a cost of Rs 7.19 crore under the Divya Nagar Yojana, shed being constructed at the solid waste management plant in Kail village, park being built on nine acres near Hamida head at a cost of Rs 6.13 crore, river front being constructed along the Western Yamuna canal heading from Badhi Majra bridge to Fatehpur bridge at a cost of Rs 12.87 crore and new building of the Municipal Corporation office.
He told all those present at the meeting that more than 30 per cent of the work of the open air theatre and auditorium had been completed. He said 90 per cent of the beautification work of the three roads had been completed. He added that the work of installing 41,000 LED lights was in progress in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation.
Special Officer (Sanitation) Anil Kumar Yadav, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Kuldeep Malik and other officials were present at the meeting.
