My father first raised issue of Ahir regiment in Parliament: Rao Inderjit Singh

Rohtak, July 28
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh has said youth would have to come forward to keep the principles alive in politics. The political torch would have to be handed over to young leaders.
Rao stated this while addressing public meetings in Kosli and Jatusana towns in Rewari district on Sunday. He pointed out that his family had been in politics for nearly a century and the people’s love for the family was still intact. The minister also appealed to the leaders sitting on the dais to end mutual disputes and unite for the betterment of the region.
“My father had raised this issue in Parliament for the Ahir Regiment when he was in power. I too had supported the community’s demand by going to the dharna in Delhi despite being a part of the government. Many other people from the community have been Defence Minister but they did not raise the voice for the Ahir Regiment,” the minister claimed.
Rao maintained that when he was the Minister of State for Defence, the leaders used to talk about shifting the Sainik School to some other place from Rewari, but he got the Sainik School built in Rewari itself. Kosli played an important role in constructing the Sainik School as the maximum number of soldiers in the region was from here, he added.
Speaking on the ongoing dispute between Kosli and Bhakli villages, Rao said both the villages should maintain brotherhood. “I am ready to mediate to resolve the issue between the two villages. This issue should be resolved by forming a committee of the village and nearby villages,” he suggested.
Rao said his family had always suffered political losses for raising the voice of the public. “His father Rao Birendra Singh was removed from the Cabinet when he raised the voice of this region and Hindi-speaking people against the then Kairo Singh government,” he informed.
Rao pointed out that former MLA Vikram Singh was made a minister in the state government and faced the allegations of corruption, but to date, no investigation had been done in this regard. “Whoever stays with Indrajit is declared corrupt,” claimed Rao, adding that he would become a lawyer of this area and raise its demands in front of the state government.
Aarti Rao, daughter of Rao Inderjit, said she had been getting the love of the people of Kosli since childhood. “When her father started politics, the people of this area were the first to giv e their blessings. People here have shown their political strength to the parties. In the coming days too, we have to take political decisions with unity,” she added.
