Narcotics officials asked to expedite anti-drug awareness campaign

With an aim to review achievements, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB), Mohit Handa, conducted a meeting of officials and staff of bureau headquarters in Madhuban on Wednesday. He reviewed the functioning of various branches, their achievements, awareness campaigns and rehabilitation efforts. Meanwhile, the staff position along with performance evaluations, work efficiency and other operational aspects of the bureau were discussed.

The SP emphasized the importance of the bureau's training programmes, short-term initiatives and campaigns aimed at improving the effectiveness of the Haryana Police and NCB. Innovative strategies were discussed to refine the functioning of investigators and boost the bureau's performance through targeted training.

Handa also stressed on disseminating DG, OP Singh’s message against drug abuse to the public. He also asked the officials to expedite anti-drug awareness campaigns with more community participation. These efforts aim to educate students and the general public about the dangers of substance abuse, preventing the youth from falling prey to addiction.

He also highlighted the need of promoting the bureau’s toll-free helpline number, 90508-91508, to ensure that information on drug traffickers reached the authorities promptly, which would help their arrest.

The officials and staff members of the bureau were also directed to maintain discipline, work diligently and uphold the bureau's mission to create a drug-free Haryana.
