In a dramatic turn of events, ex-BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik has opposed the party’s decision to field his younger brother, Dinesh Kaushik, as the candidate for the Bahadurgarh assembly seat. Naresh, who had contested the previous assembly polls on a BJP ticket, broke down in tears and used strong language against his brother at a supporters’ meeting on Friday.

Naresh demanded that the party leadership reconsider its decision and warned that he would be forced to follow his supporters’ wishes if the party does not comply. He claimed that the party’s decision has disappointed BJP workers in the area and that he would not campaign for his brother.

Naresh also alleged that a local senior BJP leader had plotted against him to serve personal interests. He warned that fielding a candidate other than him would harm the party’s prospects in the Jhajjar district.

Some BJP workers have submitted their resignations in protest against the party’s decision, which will be formalized if the party does not accept Naresh’s demand. Naresh has given the party a deadline of two-three days to reverse its decision.
