Kurukshetra: On the occasion of diamond jubilee of NIT, Kurukshetra, the Department of Physics organised the “10th National conference on nanoscience and instrumentation technology (NCNIT-2022)”. Professor Ashavani Kumar, Dr PK Satyawali and Dr SR Vadera discussed the characteristics of nanomaterials and how changing those characteristics could lead to the creation of technology that could be applied to everyday problems and for the welfare of society. Dr B V R Reddy, Director, NIT, Kurukshetra, acknowledged that such conferences were beneficial since they gave students the chance to interact with scientists, opening the door for new collaborations and a variety of pathways for pursuing their research. More than 100 students and research scientists then presented their ideas during two technical sessions using a hybrid mode for oral and poster presentations
Int’l Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies
Kurukshetra: Vice-Chancellor Kurukshetra University, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) aimed at strengthening economic partnerships among the participating countries with the objective of enhancing resilience, sustainability, inclusiveness, economic growth, fairness, and competitiveness in the Indo-Pacific region. His remarks came during a lecture on “Recent development in the indo-pacific: security and sustainable development oriented approach” organised by the Department of Economics on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the International Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies.
INTACH organises workshop
Ambala: The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) organised a “Heritage and citizenship workshop – “Jaggo”, for school teachers, at Arya Girls College. Colonel (rtd) RD Singh, INTACH Ambala convenor, informed that the aim was to promote heritage awareness and conservation as good citizenship values. As many as 72 participants from 20 schools and Arya Girls College, attended the workshop. Dr Desh Bandhu, an educationist, and senior member of INTACH, exhorted the teachers to imbibe good values in their students, and think big. The participants also visited the Kharga Heritage Park on the staff road, and learnt about the Army’s history, and its various war victories.
