NDRI lauds contributions of father of white revolution Kurien

National Milk Day was observed at National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), here on Tuesday, as a mark of respect to father of white revolution Dr Verghese Kurien on his birth anniversary. On the occasion, a number of activities were organised to create awareness about the nutritional benefits of milk and its products.

The institute demonstrated a rapid diagnostic milk adulteration kit commercialised to M/S Delmos Research Pvt Ltd to the school children and visitors at the milk parlour.

Around 120 students from Anand Public School, Nigdhu and Kanika Public School visited the campus and they were apprised of institute activities by showcasing documentary film and NDRI museum. Dr RRB Singh, Director of NDRI, conveyed his greetings and briefed about the role of Dr Verghese Kurien as Chairman of NDDB for making the country self-sufficient in milk production. Dr SC Sarma, former Director of NDRI, delivered a special lecture for the students and faculty of the institute. He lauded the contributions of Dr Kurien in the dairy sector.
