NCC cadet selected for IMA camp
Sonepat: Shantanu Mishra, an NCC cadet of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, (DCRSUST) has been selected in the Indian Military Academy (IMA) attachment camp. Shantanu is the only cadet of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, who has been selected from the 12 Haryana Battalion of NCC of the state. He will stay at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, for three weeks. Vice-Chancellor Col Commandant Professor Rajendra Kumar Anayat congratulated Shantanu and said it was a moment of pride for Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology’s NCC unit. Other cadets will also get inspiration from him, he added. University’s NCC officer Dr Pradeep Singh said the camp is very important for selection in the Indian Army and Shantanu would learn about interviews and public speaking during his camp. As many as 250 cadets have been selected from the entire country for the attachment camp.
Online storytelling contest
Hisar: The Speakathon Club, constituted in the mentorship of the Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, organised an online storytelling event on the lockdown period. The event was managed by students of the club. Students Nisith Shubhankar from Department of Economics, Sangeeta Boora from the Department of Psychology and Shalini Sharma from B.Tech (EE) were the judges. Pratap Singh Malik, Director of Training and Placement Cell, said storytelling induces in students a willingness to express themselves and communicate their thoughts and feelings. Students of various departments participated in the competition and shared their experiences of the lockdown period, mentioning how they utilised that time to learn new things, to help the needy, to spend quality time with family members, to regularise their daily routine and to start physical exercises etc. Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director, declared the results of the competition. Tanisha from MBA stood first while Vishwas from B Sc (Economics) stood second and the third position was bagged by Kavita of B Sc (Economics). The vote of thanks was presented by club coordinator Apurva Mann. Club co-coordinator Unnati anchored the programme.
