A seminar on ‘Distillers’ dried grains with solubles’ (DDGS) was held at Dr NN Dastur Auditorium of ICAR- National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, in collaboration with All India Distilleries Association (AIDA), New Delhi.

Director and VC Dheer Singh emphasised the need for sustainable environment, net-zero carbon policy and circular economy. He said the country was gearing up its activities and policies for a quantum jump of bio-ethanol production, focusing on cereals such as maize, rice, etc. in addition to sugar. DDGS have high nutritional value and can be used for microbial fermentation feedstock to produce value-added products and addressing the immediate challenges of the livestock sector by virtue of supplying quality-feed ingredients to augment higher production.
