On the complaint of Mahesh Raj Goyal of Shyam Nagar colony and the inquiry report of a team of doctors from the local Civil Hospital, a case was registered at Rai police station.

In his complaint to Sonepat Civil Surgeon as well as the Rai police, Goyal alleged that his wife Lalita was admitted to the FIMS Hospital with normal fever. He, however, alleged that due to negligence in treatment, her condition deteriorated and she was referred to Maharaja Aggarsein Hospital in Delhi, where she died on January 22.

On his complaint, the Civil Surgeon constituted a team of doctors to inquire into the allegations. The team in its inquiry report supported the allegation of negligence in patient’s treatment.
