It was revealed during the investigation that Aditya went to Vishwamitra’s residence at around 2 pm on December 10, where he had an altercation over money, which turned into a fight. During the tussle, Aditya’s head hit a grill and he became unconscious. After that, Vishwamitra murdered him with a rod. He hired a car, put the body in and threw it in the canal around 8 pm, the DCP said.

“As both were friends, Vishwamitra knew the passcode of the victim’s mobile phone. So he sent a message in the night to divert the attention of the police and villagers,” she added.

On December 11, when the villagers were planning to go to the police, he made a fake kidnapping plan, made a long message about kidnapping and sent it from Aditya’s mobile phone. He sent the messages by changing locations, the DCP said. The accused would be produced in court on Sunday, she added.
