Nepal national gets life term in 2022 rape, murder case

In a case of rape and murder of a 34-year-old woman in which a broom was inserted in the victim’s private parts, Faridabad’s Additional Sessions Judge Purushottam Kumar on Thursday sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 1.5 lakh was also imposed on the accused.
According to the police, in November 2022, the woman was found dead on a street in Sector 7, Faridabad, with her half-naked body showing signs of rape and brutalisation. It was also found that a broom handle was inserted in the victim’s private parts. An FIR was registered under the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 8 police station.
The accused, Manoj, was a native of Nepal. The police arrested the accused from the Nepal border and had also announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on him.
