New bridge to be built in Pehowa

A new bridge with a heritage look will be constructed at Saraswati Tirtha in Pehowa at a cost of Rs 1 crore to replace the existing British era bridge, which is in a poor condition and is unsafe.
This was informed by Sports Minister and Pehowa MLA Sandeep Singh after holding a meeting with the officials of the Kurukshetra Development Board here on Friday.
The minister said: “For the construction of the bridge, red sandstones will be used and an amount of Rs 1 crore will be spent on the project. The government has prepared a blueprint to make the Saraswati shrine a world-class pilgrimage. For it, an estimated amount of over Rs 19.57 crore will be spent under the Krishna circuit phase-2 of the Swadesh Darshan scheme of the Centre. Of the total budget, Rs 6.25 crore will be spent on the beautification work.”
