Newly appointed Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh on Monday exhorted party leaders and workers to strengthen the party. “We will all work together to strengthen the party,” he said after being welcomed by party leaders and workers at Neelkanth Dhaba on National Highway-44. He emphasised on working collectively for the progress of the party and the people of Haryana.

While interacting with mediapersons about factionalism within the party, the state president firmly denied any such differences, saying, “There is no factionalism in the Congress. All our senior leaders are united, and together, we will strengthen the party and ensure Congress’s flag flies high across Haryana.”

When asked about the ongoing yatra led by former MP of Hisar Brijendra Singh, he said it was Singh’s personal decision, but emphasised that everyone’s common goal should be to build a strong and united Congress.

Earlier, a large number of enthusiastic Congress workers and leaders welcomed him in Karnal. He expressed gratitude towards the senior Congress leadership and the people of Haryana for their trust in him. He said, “I thank all senior leaders of the Congress for the faith they have shown in an ordinary worker like me. Together, we will work to strengthen the party as today the Constitution and democracy of our country are under threat.”

He accused the ruling BJP of “stealing votes” and alleged that the party had misused the EVMs to remain in power. The state president further said the future of India lay in the hands of Rahul Gandhi, whose ongoing struggle for truth and justice, he said, “will surely lead to victory.”
