An important meeting of faculty deans and directors was held on Monday under the leadership of the Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana’s Higher Education Department and Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, Vineet Garg. This was his first visit to the university after taking over the charge from the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ajmer Malik, who resigned on November 30, 2024. Garg, who assumed office a month ago, focused on development and betterment of the university.

At the meeting, Garg stressed the need for improving the capacity of higher educational institutions, especially colleges, to effectively implement the National Education Policy (NEP). He highlighted that strengthening these institutions was essential for providing quality education and promoting the overall development of students. Garg emphasised that the CDLU and its associated colleges should be empowered to meet the objectives of NEP, ensuring that students were well-prepared for the future.

Garg took a detailed review of the university’s ongoing courses, available infrastructure and how these resources could be better utilised to benefit the students. He encouraged faculty members to align the curriculum with the demands of the industry, ensuring that students were job-ready. He also called for increasing community outreach programmes to serve the larger society.
