NH-152D under trial run till today

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) today started the trial run of vehicular traffic at the newly constructed Trans Haryana Greenfield project of NH-152D.

The national highway is around 227-km long. Around 35 km of this stretch crosses through Kaithal.

The trial will continue on Sunday as well, Chandan Kumar, site engineer, said.

KM Sharma, The NHAI project director, Bhiwani, has sent letters to the deputy commissioners of Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and Mahendergarh, requesting them administrative help.

“The trial is being done to ensure smooth traffic flow. This economic corridor will be formally open for public usage soon,” Sharma said.

The toll collection would begin from 8 am on Monday.

The six-laning of NH-152D was constructed as part of the Ambala-Kotputli Economic Corridor under the Bharatmala Pariyojana on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways

With the opening of this stretch, commuters will get relief from traffic jams as it passes through Gangheri in Ismailabad and Narnaul covering eight districts — Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and

Mahendragarh.

It is further connected with the Narnaul bypass and NH-148B, meeting with the Delhi-Jaipur Expessway at Paniala near Kotputli “This stretch has reduced the distance between Ambala and Kotputli by around 50 km. It will also decongest traffic on other national highways,” the project director said.

He added that the traffic plying between northern states will get a direct connectivity to Rajasthan, Maharashtra and coastal reason.

“It will be the shortest route as the duration between Ambala and Jaipur has now been reduced to three hours from four. It will also reduce the operational cost of vehicles as the road quality is good,” he said.

Commuters say they are happy with the development.

“We were plying vehicles on it earlier as well, but it was incomplete. I had a good experience on the road after the completion of the stretch,” said Pardeep Kumar, a resident of Kaithal.
