Gurugram, July 10
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct a six-lane corridor from the Hero Honda Chowk to the Dwarka Expressway. According to Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav, the corridor will also include a flyover and will be like a ring road.
Yadav has issued directions to all departments to remove public utilities and encroachments from the chowk.
Estimated to cost Rs 138 crore, the road upgradation project has been pending for three years due to the non-availability of land for road expansion and encroachments. Last year, the NHAI had descoped the project due to the non-availability of land and the proposal to build a Metro line.
NHAI Project Director Yogesh Tilak said, “We will construct a surface road from the Hero Honda Chowk to the Shahid Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. Later, a flyover will be constructed to connect the road with the Basai flyover.”
