Union Power Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took a dig at the ruling Congress party for not declaring the CM face ahead of the Assembly elections. “Congress is so panicked internally that it has not even declared the CM face, fearing that it will lead to their party’s collapse,” Khattar said while addressing a gathering of Prabuddh Nagrik Sammelan in Nilokheri block of Taraori on Sunday.

Khattar criticised the Congress, accusing the party of creating confusion and inciting divisions within society. He claimed that Congress was heading towards defeat as it had failed to fulfill the promises made earlier.

Khattar exhorted people to vote for BJP candidate Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi to bring the party into power for the third consecutive time in a row.

Khattar also pointed out a long-standing trend in Haryana’s politics, saying, “For 76 years, the record of the state Assembly shows that the party in power at the Centre has always won the state elections.”

He expressed confidence in the the BJP’s victory for the third time in the state, just as it did at the national level in the Lok Sabha elections.

Khattar also took a jibe at the previous Congress-led government, claiming that it was not run by former PM Manmohan Singh, but by remote control.

He further accused Congress of making false promises in various states such as Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.

The former Chief Minister criticised the Congress’ governance in states such as Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, where he claimed no major promises were fulfilled. “In Himachal, the party had promised that it would waive the electricity bills, but it was not fully implemented. This shows how the Congress makes false promises to lure people,” Khattar asserted.

Highlighting the BJP’s focus on responsible governance, he said, “A family cannot function in deficit. Same is the case with a government. When deficits grow, the social structure collapses, leading to more loans and interest payments. Haryana remains within its fiscal limits today.”

He also addressed a gathering of intellectual people in Kunjpura of Indri segment to seek votes in support of party’s candidate Ram Kumar Kashyap.
