No-confidence motion against Rohtak Zila Parishad chairperson Manju Hooda
A majority of members of Rohtak Zila Parishad (ZP) have sought to remove chairperson Manju Hooda through a no-confidence motion, citing dissatisfaction with her performance. A delegation of 10 out of 14 parishad members submitted a representation to the local Deputy Commissioner, along with affidavits, requesting action under the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
BJP has nominated Manju Hooda to contest from Garhi Sampla Kiloi, a constituency currently represented by former chief minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Manju Hooda, who has been chairperson for over one-and-a-half-years, dismissed the move as politically motivated. She claimed to have fulfilled her duties and responsibilities, citing projects accomplished during her tenure as evidence. “The zila parishad members may be influenced by the Congress, but it will not affect my thinking and functioning,” she said.
