No coordination among government departments, residents suffer
MANY government departments such as the PWD, nagar parishad, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, public health, telecom etc. seem to have lack of liaison as one department makes the road, while other starts digging it on one pretext or another. In the picture, the Public Health Department in order to clean chocked sewers dug up manholes and abandoned the job, causing inconvenience to people. Even if they finish the job, they do it so carelessly that most of the potholes and debris keep lying on roads for months. The administration must ensure that such repairs are done with utmost perfection. —Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
Congress grass engulfs footpaths, pedestrians inconvenienced
PEDESTRIANS are a lot affected with the footpaths engulfed by wild congress grass. The footpaths along Kaithal-Ambala road adjoining Sector 20 and 21, HSVP, cannot be used by pedestrians as these have been completely covered by wild grass which has turned out to be a curse for the beauty of town. The footpaths were constructed by the PWD (B&R) few years back to ensure safe and free movement of residents. Huge amount running in to lakhs had been spent on the project but in vain as the purpose is not being solved due to wild growth of grass there. The department concerned must take a note of this and get the needful done for maintenance of the footpaths. —Satish Seth, Kaithal

Water accumulates in Low-lying areas
RAINFALL on Thursday was enough to expose the fake claims of the administration about its monsoon preparedness as low-lying areas witnessed waterlogging. People are a harassed lot due to waterlogging in streets. The choking of sewerage is the root cause of the problem but the authorities are not paying any heed towards it. Before it leads to spreading of waterborne diseases, the authorities concerned must look into the issue and get the needful done immediately. —Sumit, Kurukshetra
