Former Minister of State Subhash Sudha on Wednesday said no specially-abled person in the district will be deprived of assistive devices.
On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a free Disability Equipment Distribution Camp was organised by the District Red Cross Society in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), District Administration and Naveen Jindal Foundation.
In his address on the occasion, Subhash Sudha said, “ALIMCO provides assistive devices throughout the country, and the ALIMCO and the Red Cross Society have been doing commendable work for the benefit of humanity. The public should actively participate in such social activities to provide assistance to those in need. Kurukshetra MP Naveeen Jindal has been taking various initiatives for the welfare of the people in need and Naveen Jindal Foundation is playing an active role in these efforts.” He appealed to all beneficiaries to take care of the devices they received at the camp.
Dr Sunil Kumar, general secretary of the Red Cross Society, Haryana, said assistive devices were distributed to 587 beneficiaries, including the persons with special needs and senior citizens, at the Red Cross Bhawan.
