Taking cognisance of complaints regarding doctors leaving their duties before the scheduled time, authorities at Pt BD Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here have issued a stern warning.

During the inspection, he emphasised that no one, particularly junior doctors, would be permitted to leave before the end of their assigned shift. He also stressed that if a department head remained on duty for the full shift, junior doctors must follow suit and stay until the end of their designated hours, with no exceptions. An official from PGIMS said the surprise inspection, which took place at approximately 3:30 pm, covered Ward 2, 3, 14, 15, 16, as well as Ophthalmology, ENT, PCCM, Orthopaedic Workshop, Physiotherapy departments and the Sports Injury Centre.

Dr Singhal made it clear that any doctor or employee found leaving their post before the shift ends would face disciplinary action.
