Ambala, July 31

Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij today said that the government was working with the aim that no person, whether rich or poor, should lose his life due to the lack of medical treatment.

Efforts being made to improve healthcare

During the pandemic, doctors, paramedical staff and others have worked tirelessly to save the lives of millions of people. I salute the entire doctor community. Sincere efforts are being made to improve health facilities. Anil Vij

The government and private hospitals have to work together in this direction, he added.

The Health Minister was speaking on the occasion of an event organised by the Haryana Medical Council in Ambala City to honour doctors and hospitals with Haryana Chikitsak Gaurav Award. Different awards like the “best doctor” and “best hospital” etc were given on the occasion. While Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital got the best hospital award, the Civil Hospital of Panchkula and Karnal stood second and third, respectively. Doctors of around 70 government and private hospitals were also honoured at the function.

Vij said, “During the Covid pandemic, doctors, as well as paramedical staff and others, have worked tirelessly to save the lives of millions of people without caring about their lives. After I tested Covid positive, my health condition deteriorated, but the doctors saved my life. I salute the entire doctor community. Education and health are two such sectors in which the cooperation of the government as well as private institutions, is very important. Sincere efforts are being made to improve health facilities. In 2014, the health budget of the state was Rs 1,700 crore, but it was increased to Rs 6,500 crore.”

“Every person wants respect while doing his work. I also want that the person who does good work should get respect. Along with work, it is very important to encourage the people too because when people don’t get encouragement, they get disappointed. Encouragement works like a booster dose. Every department should encourage those who do good work. Thirty awards have been announced in the Home Department, out of which 10 can be given by the Chief Minister, 10 by the Home Minister, and 10 by the DGP. The awards are given for good performance, good investigation and showing bravery. Along with the award, there is also a provision to give an extension of six months too. Discussions are being held on that such awards should be given by the Health Department too,” the minister said.

ACS Health Rajeev Arora, director general services Dr Veena Singh and several other officials were present on the occasion.
