No proper check on sale of adulterated petrol

The authorities seem to have adopted a lax attitude when it comes to the sale of adulterated items in the district. Recently, this fact came to light when a large number of residents staged a protest at a Sector 3 petrol pump, located in Ballabgarh subdivision, alleging that their vehicles had got damaged after refilling adulterated petrol and diesel from the pump. Though police officials reached the spot and intervened, but there was no one, who could tell how adulterated fuel was being sold when a machinery was in place to carry out regular checks at all petrol pumps. This incident proves that officials concerned have failed to do their job properly. Despite paying high prices and the GST to the government, residents were at the receiving end as their vehicles got damaged after refuelling and they got no compensation. The government should fix accountability of officials concerned and seal such pumps immediately. — Jai Prakash, Faridabad

Tejli Road in bad condition

The condition of the road leading to Tejli village from the ESI Hospital is bad. The Municipal Corporation (MC) authorities filled potholes on the road near ESI Hospital with a mixture of soil and gravel last month. This act of the MC authorities has failed to provide relief to commuters as the road has become uneven. Besides, dust flying all the time inconveniences commuters and shopkeepers, who have shops along this road. Several important establishments, including ESI Hospital and branches of two banks, are located on this road. Therefore, the MC authorities should immediately recarpet this road with bitumen. — Sushil Kumar, Jagadhri
