Not in BJP, will join fray: Savitri Jindal
A day after the BJP declared Dr Kamal Gupta candidate the third time from the Hisar Assembly constituency, Jindal group chairperson Savitri Jindal announced that she would still join the electoral fray.
Interacting with supporters at the Jindal House here today, the former minister said she had not joined the BJP and thus is not a member of the BJP. “Though I have campaigned for my son who contested on the BJP ticket from the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency recently, I have not joined the BJP formally,” she stated.
“Hisar is my extended family and I have to abide by their wishes. The people of Hisar stand by me and thus I will definitely go by their wishes. I am firm on contesting the election as per the aspirations of the people,” she said while talking to the mediapersons in Hisar.
When asked whether she would contest as an Independent or from any political party, she replied, “We will explore the options and contest the poll,” she said. Denying that it was a revolt against the BJP, she clarified, “I have not taken the membership of the BJP and have just campaigned for my son. I am free to make my decision.”
Jindal said she had not given a thought about approaching any party for the ticket. “My decision to contest the election is final. This is my last election,” she said.
