Notice issued to Irrigation Dept XEN for missing meeting
Expressing dissatisfaction over the absence of the XEN, Irrigation Department, Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Preeti ordered that a show-cause notice be issued for missing the meeting without prior information. She was chairing a review meeting of the CM’s announcements at the Mini-Secretariat on Monday.
During the meeting, she directed officials to expedite work on the announcements made by the Chief Minister and ensure their timely completion. She emphasised that for projects with allocated budgets, the work must begin immediately to avoid cost escalation due to delays.
She said the inter-departmental coordination was essential to complete development works efficiently. The DC exhorted the departments to resolve coordination issues internally and inform her if problems persisted. The officials were also instructed to regularly update the action-taken report portal with progress on each project. “Compromise on quality will not be tolerated. If negligence is found, responsibility will be fixed on the officer concerned,” she warned.
She emphasised the need for complete preparedness before attending review meetings and said that roads being constructed under the CM’s announcements must follow all safety protocols and include proper signage. She also asked the officials to conduct meetings with other departments where no objection certificates were required to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Highlighting discrepancies between the ground reality and portal data, DC Preeti instructed the departments to ensure that information updated on the portal was accurate and reflected the actual field progress. She warned that if any nodal department failed to receive timely data from a department concerned, a show-cause notice should be issued to the responsible officer.
During the meeting, special focus was on major development works, including Maharishi Valmiki University building, LUVAS Regional Centre, City Square, road infrastructure, installation of CCTV cameras in Pundri and setting up of a Kabaddi academy atPai village. The departments such as PWD, public health, urban local bodies, sports, and panchayats were instructed to ensure early completion of these projects.
