The Mines and Geology Department has issued show-cause notices to the owners of 24 stone crushers and screening plants in Yamunanagar district.
The show-cause notices were issued after a joint team of CM Flying Squad and Mining Department allegedly found discrepancies in the stock of mining minerals of those plants.
According to the information available, the joint team had conducted inspections of several stone crushers and screening plants in Yamunanagar district in the recent past.
During inspection, more quantity of mining minerals was allegedly found at some plants than the quantity available in the record of Haryana Mines and Geology Information System (HMGIS) of the Haryana Government, indicating involvement in illegal mining activities.
At some plants, less quantity of mining minerals was found than the quantity available in the record of HMGIS.
Through the notices, the owners of the stone crushers were asked to deposit a fine.
“Owners of several stone crushers and screening plants have deposited fines after getting show-cause notices. But who have failed to deposit the fine have been given reminders,” said Dr Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Mining Engineer of Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar.
He said that besides 24 plants, show-cause notices were issued to more plants also in connection with this case.
