Excluding challans for drunken driving, no entry and permit violations, traffic violators in Gurugram will now be able to pay all other challans through online mode on the spot.

On-the-spot payment

  • The Gurugram Traffic Police will start the process of online payment of challans on the spot from Monday. The challans for drink and drive, no entry and permit violations will need to be paid in court, while others can be paid through online mode.
  • If a challan is issued to any driver, a UPI barcode will be generated in the challan machine to make the payment. The challan can be paid through any UPI app by scanning the barcode.

The Gurugram Traffic Police will start the process of online payment of challans on the spot from Monday. In a meeting organised regarding the online payment of challans, DCP, Traffic, Virender Vij on Friday provided necessary guidelines to the traffic police officers.

“The process of paying challans online will become completely smooth by Monday. For this, all preparations have been completed. Only the challans for drink and drive, no entry and permit violations will need to be paid in court, while others can be paid through online mode on the spot,” said the DCP, Traffic.

Taking another step towards becoming hi-tech, the Gurugram Traffic Police have started the process of paying challans through online UPI payment on the spot if any driver is challaned through the machine at any intersection. If a challan is issued to any driver, a UPI barcode will be generated in the challan machine to make the payment. The challan can be paid through any UPI app by scanning the barcode generated in the machine.

“Besides, if any driver has been challaned through a postal challan (via camera), they can also go to Paytm to see the details of their challan and make an online payment through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI payment. Drivers can also pay their challans online by visiting the site e-challan.parivahan.gov.in. Keeping in mind the convenience of common citizens, the higher authorities have taken this concrete step, so that the common man does not have to face any problem in paying the challan,” said Vij.
