Now, sportspersons can apply online for cash award

Now, sportspersons will be able to apply for cash awards online as a portal system has been developed for the same.

While giving the information, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pradeep Dahiya said the state government gave cash prizes to encourage sports and players. The cash prizes are given to the winners of various state, national, Olympic, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and other international-level sports competitions.

“The application process has been made online and the players will now be able to apply online for cash awards. The applications will be accepted only through the portal of the Sports Department,” Dahiya added.

Lalita, District Sports Officer (DSO), said various schemes of the Sports Department were being implemented effectively in the district.

“The cash award process has been made online and the portal will remain open throughout the year. The players can apply through the portal for competitions from April 1, 2024 and thereafter. Any medal-winning player can apply for the award after getting the certificate. With the introduction of an online system, the players' time will be saved,” she added.

The DSO said the players would be able to apply online on the Sports Department's portal http://haryanakhelcashaward.in. They can apply online for cash prizes only after the competition is over.

“Cash prizes are given by the state government to encourage sports and the players,” Lalita added.
