Sixty-two volunteers participated in the campaign.Principal Kushal Pal said “Even small children can be seen riding two-wheelers and driving cars. They neither have experience of driving vehicles nor do they have knowledge of road and traffic rules. Due to this, they become victims of accidents and also pose a threat to other commuters on roads,” he said.

NSS Programme Officer Surendra Kumar said according to a survey, around 2.50 lakh people died every year in the country and a majority of the victims were youngsters. “It is a big loss for the country that cannot be compensated in any way,” he said.

A workshop was also organised in the college which aimed at motivating students to cast their vote in the upcoming elections. — TNS
