Resolutions were passed on the Day 1 of the Assembly session to pay tributes to those who had died since the end of the previous session.

Leader of the House Manohar Lal Khattar read out obituary resolutions. The members observed silence to pay homage to the dead.

Speaker Gian Chand Gupta also paid tributes to departed souls. Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda read out obituary resolutions on behalf of the Congress.

Those remembered included former Minister of State Chaudhary Khurshid Ahmed and former Member of Legislative Assembly Chaudhary Ude Singh Dalal.

Tributes were also paid to freedom fighter Chhotu Ram of Dhor village in Jhajjar and seven martyrs who had made the supreme sacrifice while safeguarding the motherland.

They included Sepoy Sunil Kumar of Bawwa village in Rewari, Sepoy Kapil Singh of Chelawas village in Mahendragarh, Sepoy Pawan of Chimni village in Jhajjar, Sepoy Naveen Joon of Desalpur village in Jhajjar, Sepoy Jai Singh of Masit village in Rewari, Sepoy Azad Singh of Malsari Khera village in Jind and Sepoy Anil Kumar of Madan Heri village in Hisar.

The House also placed on record its deep sense of sorrow over the demise of relatives of sitting and former MLAs. — TNS
